United is hosting a three week program to give local youth an insight into
aviation careers and opportunities available to them. The program will be
hosted the first three Saturdays in June and will open to youth ages 13-21.
Attendees will hear presentations and get a close up look at aircraft at
United’s brand-new state of the art Maintenance Facility at Los Angeles
Airport. Attendees will learn about United’s Aviate Academy which
United’s own flight school which is working to train the next generation of
pilots. United has a goal to train about 5,000 new pilots at the school by
2030 with at least half being women or people of color.
I also meet with LA Mayor Eric Garcetti at event to work together to inspire kids in Los Angeles.
